Local Beaches

Where the Atlantic Meets Memory

The Atlantic unfolds just minutes from your door. Main Beach, East Hampton’s crown jewel, welcomes visitors with pristine sands, lifeguard protection, and the Beach Hut’s lunch and evening wine service, which is only operated during seasonal months,   Those seeking quieter shores will find Georgica Beach‘s windswept dunes particularly rewarding, while Two Mile Hollow Beach offers intimate coves beloved by locals. In neighboring Amagansett, Indian Wells Beach draws surfers and families alike with its family-friendly atmosphere and row of beloved food trucks, while Atlantic Avenue Beach charms with clean sands and gentle waves. Further west, Sagaponack’s Sagg Main Beach and Flying Point Beach provide wide, uncrowded expanses where the only sound is surf meeting shore. Each beach carries its own character—some animated with volleyball nets and lifeguards, others tranquil stretches for solitary walks—yet all share a particular quality that has drawn artists here for generations.

During the summer months, The 1770 House provides parking permits for village and town beaches. Guests visiting town beaches would be required to pay for parking.  Off-season, guests may visit any beach with no expense.

Shopping, Museums & Vineyards

Main Street to Museum Floor, Vineyard to Village Door

East Hampton’s tree-lined Main Street and Newtown Lane have cultivated a shopping culture known for storied luxury. Designer flagships sit comfortably beside carefully curated boutiques, while Amagansett’s charming square offers a more relaxed browse through artisan galleries and specialty shops. For those drawn to cultural pursuits, Guild Hall anchors the village as the East End’s premier arts destination—a museum, theater, and gathering place since 1931, presenting everything from Abstract Expressionist exhibitions to chamber concerts. The Pollock-Krasner House in nearby Springs preserves the studios where two masters created their most celebrated works, paint-splattered floors included. And when the day calls for vineyard visits, Wölffer Estate in Sagaponack pours acclaimed wines from sustainably farmed South Fork terroir, while Channing Daughters in Bridgehampton experiments with over two dozen grape varieties on their twenty-eight-acre estate—both offering tastings that celebrate this region’s transformation from potato fields to serious wine country.

The Children’s Museum in Bridgehampton and the South Fork Natural History Museum are always popular destinations for families with children.

Golf

Links, Dunes & Timeless Greens

The Hamptons has long claimed some of America’s finest golf, with championship courses woven through oceanside dunes and rolling countryside. The private East Hampton Golf Club showcases Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw’s artistry across 120 acres—where windswept fescue-lined links give way to forested back nine reminiscent of North Carolina’s sandhills. The legendary Maidstone Club traces its lineage to 1891, its restored Willie Park Jr. design threading between dunes and Hook Pond, with final holes so strategic that Bobby Jones praised them as matchplay perfection. For accessible public play, Poxabogue Golf Center in Bridgehampton offers a welcoming nine-hole par-30 course and driving range. Other beautiful courses worth exploring include Montauk Downs State Park Golf Course, Sag Harbor State Golf Course and Shelter Island Country Club. Whether you’re fortunate enough to secure a private club invitation or prefer the charm of Poxabogue, these courses capture something essential about the Hamptons: serious tradition delivered without unnecessary ceremony.

Wellness

The Art of Restoration

We’re pleased to guide guests to Naturopathica Spa & Healing Center—a sanctuary that has pioneered holistic wellness in East Hampton since 1995. Founded as a pharmacy of flowers and herbs, Naturopathica has evolved into one of the region’s most respected healing destinations, where massage-based facials and restorative bodywork are powered by botanical formulas and genuine therapeutic expertise. Their approach feels less clinical spa and more healing arts center: therapists who listen, treatments that address root causes rather than symptoms, spaces bathed in natural light and calming earth tones. Services range from deep tissue massage and customized facials to specialized oncology care and energy healing—all delivered with the sort of nurturing attention that makes you realize how rare true wellness care has become. It’s the kind of experience that extends well beyond your appointment time, leaving you genuinely restored rather than merely pampered.

“A great spot for some fine dining without an overly fussy menu.”
